Reconnecting Human Relationships: A Unique Office Design

Chia-Hung Weng's Award-Winning Design Transforms Law Firm into Homely Atmosphere

Chia-Hung Weng, an acclaimed designer, has transformed a law firm into a space with a home atmosphere, fostering heart-warming interactions and professional services. This unique design, which won the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017, is a testament to the power of design in shaping human relationships and experiences.

Weng's design is inspired by the desire to create a law firm that feels like home. The aim was to foster a sense of warmth and care among the employees, while still offering professional services. This is achieved through the use of large ceiling windows and glass walls that create a bright atmosphere, while also outlining the boundaries among the small and medium areas. The result is a space that encourages interaction and collaboration.

What sets this design apart is its unique blend of form and function. The use of exposed concrete and glass creates a composed and silent atmosphere in the grey space. Recessed light belts are used to paint the entire space with dark and light grey, dark blue and black. The space is then decorated with log furniture, potted plants, wooden materials, sculptures, and a modern bike. Carpets and cloth couches balance the intense space, creating a style that is understated yet valuable.

The design was realized using advanced technology and innovative techniques. The project, which was completed in April 2015 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, spans 99 square meters. The design team, led by Weng, worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. The result is a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

One of the key challenges in this project was to segregate the working and public areas. This was achieved through the use of crossed light belts and a display wall. The outer and inner display walls were designed with consistent skill, while the lattice ceiling, logs, and artificial floors segregated the pathway, reception area, meeting area, bar, and office. Each working unit is available for meeting and gathering, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

The design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional. It is a comfortable space where clients, attorneys-in-charge, and employees can foresee more opportunities. The design style integrates elements of both sense and sensibility, helping clients bring their moods into peace and making the brand of the law firm more trustworthy. This is a law firm that offers professional service while bringing together different opinions from everyone.

In conclusion, Chia-Hung Weng's design is a testament to the power of design in shaping human experiences and relationships. It is a space that fosters interaction and collaboration, while also offering a sense of peace and trust. It is a design that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, a design that truly reconnects human relationships.
